ACCRA releases conference report authored by Kulima

The Africa Climate Change Resilience Alliance (ACCRA) has released the report of its regional conference.  The report was authored by Ms Tracy Cull and Dr Katharine Vincent, and is available in English and Portuguese.  The ACCRA regional conference took place in Nairobi in September 2011, and was organised and facilitated by Kulima Integrated Development Solutions.

Kulima authors guest blog on ClimatePrep.org

Dr Katharine Vincent has authored a guest blog on the WWF-sponsored website ClimatePrep.org, Ensuring Food Production Within a Changing Climate in Southern Africa.  The blog builds on the recently-released Kulima-Oxfam report “Overcoming the barriers: How to ensure food production under climate change in southern Africa” and calls for climate-smart agriculture arising from the current COP17/CMP7 taking place in Durban.

Kulima runs training of trainers on gender and climate change with CCAFS

Dr Katharine Vincent and Ms Tracy Cull have just returned from India, where they ran a training of trainers (and oversaw a training course run by the trainers) on gender and climate change, in partnership with CCAFS. Potential trainers from India, Sri Lanka and Nepal attended the event, learning content on projected climate change in South Asia, its (gender-differentiated) impacts and adaptation options, as well as techniques to communicate this information to rural women farmers and village leaders. The ultimate aim is to empower women at the grassroots to understand that they are able to make choices that enable adaptation to climate change but require little financial or technological investment.  Katharine and Tracy authored a guest blog on the training for the CCAFS website.
