Kulima director in Burkina Faso to assess agricultural adaptation

Koudougou hotel administratifDr Katharine Vincent is currently in Burkina Faso to visit with agriculture, water, environment and animal health staff and NGO representatives in the Central West region to see what responses they have been observing to climate change, and how their activities are supporting agricultural adaptation by farmers. Agricultural adaptations are being assessed in six countries across Africa as part of a project managed by Kulima and UNIQUE Landuse and Forestry that seeks to identify agricultural adaptation best practices on behalf of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme. Different farming systems and commodity types were selected for further investigation at a workshop in 2013. The visit follows related ones to Zambia in April and Togo in May. The final results of the study are anticipated in early 2015.
