Kulima finalising project on agricultural adaptation good practices

sunflower farmerDr Katharine Vincent and Ms Tracy Cull are finalising a project that has identified good practices in agricultural adaptation from across the African continent.  The project is managed by Kulima and UNIQUE Landuse and Forestry, and is part of the GIZ support to the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme. Over the last two years primary research was undertaken to document observed adaptations in various farming systems in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Togo and Zambia, as well as in South Africa. Six continent-wide best practices were then determined based on a transparent evaluation framework for good practices in agricultural adaptation, developed in early 2015. The project will produce an overall continent-wide report on the six good practices, as well as summaries of the findings in each country (for feeding back to those farmers, farmers' organisations, and other stakeholder who participated in the research).
