Dr Katharine Vincent is in Malawi this week with colleagues from LTS International and the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership to support the design of a climate resilience programme. The programme, which is likely to last 5 years and be supported by a number of donors, aims to bring together various interventions in the resilience, livelihoods, social protection and humanitarian assistance spheres in order to enable climate-resilient development in Malawi. The week will involve consultations with various government and non-government stakeholders. Katharine's particular role is to assess the political economy to inform effective design, and to ensure that the approach is gender-responsive.
