two bridgesDr Katharine Vincent and Ms Tracy Cull are supporting WWF in the analysis of climate change responses from grassroots communities in four African countries: Gabon, Madagascar, Tanzania and Uganda.  The primary research, comprising interviews and focus groups, was undertaken by various of the seven international conservation NGOs that make up the Africa Biodiversity Collaborative Group (ABCG), supported by USAID.  Their interest is to determine the extent to which autonomous adaptation exists and what can be learnt from these responses for other communities.  A qualitative research protocol is also being developed in order to faciliate additional data collection and research on these themes.
