MalawiDr Katharine Vincent is in Lilongwe and Blantyre this week to continue national level stakeholder consultations as part of the preparation of a project document for a GEF LDCF-funded project on "Implementing urgent adaptation priorities through strengthened decentralized and national development plans" (ADAPT-PLAN) that will be implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Mangagement, with support from UNDP. These national level consultations build on district-level consultations and a workshop for the three target districts (Nkhata Bay, Ntcheu and Zomba) which defined tangible local adaptation activities and elaborated workplans for ensuring that adaptation is actively incorporated into the production of the next, and subsequent, district development plans.
