Dr Katharine Vincent continues her trip to Malawi this week to hold a stakeholder workshop to finalise the project document for the ADAPT-PLAN project, on integrating adaptation into decision-making, which has been accepted at concept stage for funding by the GEF under the Least Developed Countries Fund. This finalisation follows several rounds of consultations; at the district and national-level; and also presentation to (and endorsement by) the Climate Change Technical Committee. The project sets up the institutional framework to encourage integration of adaptation into District Development Plans in 3 districts (Nkhata Bay, Ntcheu and Zomba) and 3 national departments (Agriculture, Water and Forestry) through the use of finance linked to identification and attainment of appropriate adaptation indicators.
