Last week Dr Katharine Vincent was in Pretoria for the kick off meeting of the Food Systems Transformation in Southern Africa for One Health (FoSTA Health) project. The meeting brought together representatives from the different consortium organisations that will work together over the next 3.5 years to explore the consequences of emergent pathways of transformation in southern African food systems, with a One Health focus.
The purpose of the meeting was for the various work packages and country teams to plan in detail their activities for the coming twelve months, and ensure the relevant complementarities and feed-ins. Kulima will play a role in stakeholder engagement across the four focal countries (Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa and Zambia), and in supporting the identification of equitable transformation pathways and system leverage points.
