The Adaptive Social Protection Programme at the Institute of Development Studies has just released "Adaptive Social Protection: Making Concepts a Reality. Guidance Notes for Practitioners", written by Dr Katharine Vincent and Ms Tracy Cull. Adaptive social protection is a concept that builds on the synergies between social protection, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction to ensure that the livelihoods of the poor are resilient in the context of changing climate and disaster risks. The guidance notes have been published at the end of the 2 year Adaptive Social Protection Programme, and translate research findings into tangible guidance aimed at practitioners in all three sub-disciplines who wish to expand their approach to one of aaptive social protection.
