Dr Katharine Vincent is in Maputo for the next two weeks to run two courses on the Gender-sensitive Climate Vulnerability and Capacity Analysis (GCVCA) methodology for CARE's government and non-government partners. These training courses are part of the project Kulima is undertaking with CARE Mozambique on Engendering Disaster Risk Reduction in Mozambique. So far CARE's critically-acclaimed Climate Vulnerability and Capacity Analysis toolkit has been modified to be more gender-sensitive. Training courses have been run in its use for CARE staff in Nampula and Maxixe, who have subsequently used the methodology in order to conduct gender-sensitive CVCAs in the districts to inform future programming.
